After Waiting in Line Almost An Hour, Too

Posted by Lynnster on June 25, 2008

Remember this?

Guess who failed inspection and can’t get her car registered right now? (Even with the most expensive registration rates in the whole danged state, which is still beyond my comprehension.) That stupid crack is not even in my line of vision.

I hate this city more every day. Having just waded thru posts from ten and eleven years ago when I still loved it here, it’s even more surreal to me how much I hate it.

  1. I know it’s always expensive to move, but do you ever consider moving back to Nashville?

    Come to Knoxville!

    Yeah. On both counts. Want.

Aiming for Knoxville in about 3 years anyway. Just wish it was sooner.

The last time I got screwed by that inspection process, I just registered my car in Tipton county. Luckily, my mom was co-signer on the loan for that car and it was super easy. You need a friend outside the city. :) Or register it in Henry county. :)

Yup. The first ten years I lived here I kept my car registered in Henry County, only when I bought a new car down here in ‘96 did I change.

It makes absolutely no sense that it’s $40 a year in one county and nearly $110 down here.

You don’t have to get your car inspected to register it in Iowa. It’s probably why people drive around in such pieces of crap in this state too.

That’s what’s even nuttier. Out of 100 or so counties in the whole state, there’s only two or three that even require inspection. Unfortunately I’m living in one of ‘em. :(
